Re: Just purchased 71 CST shop truck, Anyone know its history?

Not yet. I picked it up as is. Contemplating doing an air ride setup but figure I will drive it this summer to figure things out. Once I jump into it and have some "build" input, I will contribute.

I don't know how much is spent to create the fake patina, but it has to be as much as what a good paint job would be.

The logo is something someone put on there to give it a story and make it look real.

I had a lengthy conversation with a guy on the HRPT about the Studebaker truck he was driving and how the logo he created and had painted on the side of the door was only done 4 months ago and the guy did a great job of aging the paint and making it look like it had been there 40+ years.

Sorry for the rant, but fake patina kinda pisses me off. It's like someone wearing medals for being in battle when in reality they bought them from eBay.

If you're going to spend the money, put a good paint job on it.
What a douche!
