Re: 10 years gone??
Great looking truck!
I like the title of your thread too, for obvious reasons

Re: 10 years gone??
It’s been a while since I posted an update, but have making good progress. I got the vent window parts back from the chrome shop, so I rebuilt those. The first one fought me for a while. Learned some lessons on that one, second one only took 45 minutes.

Re: 10 years gone??
Started on the interior. Put down some sound deading, then started all the under dash stuff.

Re: 10 years gone??
That brings us to today. Assembled the driver door, glued in the weatherstrip and adjusted the latch. That went a lot smoother than I expected.

Re: 10 years gone??
Ok, it’s been a while again. Have been busy with work, moving our oldest off to college, and a bunch of other stuff. There has been lots of progress on the truck too, going to do a little picture dump here.

Re: 10 years gone??
That is a great color combo. I was thinking the chrome wheels were rollers for now and in my head I was thinking ... Please don't put giant wheels on there, please don't put giant wheels on there ... then Boom! Super cool looking slots. Perfect execution all around on your truck, Good Job!

Re: 10 years gone??
It may have taken you ten years but I am totally impressed and love the look all the way around. Color, stance, tires/wheels. I think you nailed it. You won’t take Helmut out and not get attention.

Re: 10 years gone??
Thanks guys. There is still lots of little stuff to finish, but it feels great to drive it. It has always been my intention to build it as something that could have been done back when new, just little mods that keep it classic looking. Hard to beat the looks of these trucks.

Re: 10 years gone??
it took me about six pictures of thinking "why does he have the back of the hood up so high" before i realized that the cowl panel just wasn't on yet.

Re: 10 years gone??
I had just brought it home from getting an alignment and windshield installed, there’s also no rear glass or working speedo at that point. Had intended to do a little shake down run that turned into a 30 mile cruise.

So good man. Seeing a fellow board member have such success is inspiring. All that hard work has paid off. Please get a decent tracking device / alarm.

Re: 10 years gone??
Thank for all the comments everyone. Here comes another picture taken by my uncle in his 66 Chevelle, shows my brother’s 71 Blazer, his 67 Camaro, and me in the back. We were pulling into a local show, was nice to see and hear all the positive comments.

Re: 10 years gone??
Now that the weather up here is getting cold, had to put it away for the season. Was nice to get 500 or so miles on it this fall, but it did show some things to address this winter. Some stuff was known and put aside just to finally drive it, and a couple of things popped up with the miles. So, time to make a list and finish the left out and fix the others.
