Re: Storage cleanout #3
Sorry but post number 1 very specifically says:
I am working on cleaning out my storage and have boxes of parts from both 60-66 chevy and gmc trucks. Here is a ton of misc. stuff. I will be adding more as I can. If there is any misc. parts you dont see listed fill free to ask I just may not have gotten to that box yet. All prices plus shipping. I will do what I can to combine shipping for multiple items. No paypal. Please include zipcode for shipping. Please reply in thread before sending a PM. First I will take it gets it. I don't do paypal. Thanks for looking and please check back. Thanks Lyle First I will take it gets it. All of your previous post was questions or interested. Hey Lyle Merry Christmas! How much are your SM420'S? Do you have transmission brake parts? How many oil baths do you have? Interested in the AC oil filter. Sorry but Dpowers specifically said I will take it. Thanks Lyle |

Re: Storage cleanout #3
Hey Lyle,
Not trying to pick a fight, but the forum rule about the first "I'll take it" is rarely followed here. DPowers himself has just "asked" about parts before and was considered to be first in line despite other people saying "I'll take it" afterwards. Again that's not the rule, it's the normal etiquette/manners on this forum which I'm sure he's aware of since he has benefitted from it before. Not your fault, more the fault of the moderators not enforcing the rules and other members being opportunistic in spite of seeing someone else was already expressing interest in a part. No hard feelings toward you, it's just frustrating that the written and unwritten rules are different and are applied so randomly. Anyway let me know how many transmissions you have, I may take all of them as it was my intention to buy a bigger lot of parts depending on what you have. Thanks, Pat |

Re: Storage cleanout #3
Pat, Sorry but I am not trying to cause trouble either. Both of you have been good past customers. I dont try to play favorites or any other game so that is why I post the first i will take it clause in my original post on every add. I wont guarantee that I am perfect at administering it but I always try to. I dont know about his history of just asking about parts either as I dont follow around on here much. I will let him know and see what we can do to settle this. The shipping is kinda high for the parts he wants so that may change things.
I will see how many trans I have that I will part with. Do you want ones even if the have issues or missing parts ? Thanks, Lyle |

Re: Storage cleanout #3
Sorry to single you out, it's not about one specific person. It's a site-wide problem across the for sale forums. As I mentioned to Lyle, there are times where I've been the first to say "I'll take it," only to lose out to someone else who just asked a question. So in actual practice it's often whoever responds first, not who commits to buy right away. Then when someone like Lyle comes along and tries to actually follow the rules he gets static for it, which isn't fair either. Anyway sorry if I ruffled any feathers.

Re: Storage cleanout #3
Not to derail this thread, but this has come up before. For the most part, the staff here has said they leave it up to the person posting the parts to decide if they want to consider the first one who inquires about the part first in line. In this case here, he specifically stated; "The first I'll take it".
. In the future, just post; "I'll take it, but I have one question". I posted earlier for the bumper brackets; "I'll take it pending pictures" because I wanted to see pictures before I committed.
