In order to prevent THIS post from suffering the same flaw, I will point out that, in some areas, local machine shops and especially engine builders are becoming increasingly hard to find, quality of the work notwithstanding. This trend is another reason that I would have any work necessary done locally: trying to support the remaining infrastructure.

Re: What would you do?
If it’s just a driver buy a new one from Gm I have a spare 350 in the crate from gm right now. If it is a hotrod that needs power that gm won’t make find the best reputable shop that gives you the best bang for your buck no matter where they are located

Re: What would you do?
Thanks all for the feed back. Find it interesting that both blue print and atk had no votes. As for the vague post I thought it would be a good discussion amongst the group and help me figure what route I wanted to go. Options are plenty and alot of you have been in this game along time. This is my first venture and I am looking forward to learning both forum etiquette and how to wrench on this rolling work of gm art.
