Re: A potentially expensive mishap.....
I can’t make a thread. It was on a customers car and I didn’t take pictures. The glass gets removed. Then you can access the slide motor. I bought the motor from my local gm dealer.
Edit: Here’s a video to show where the parts are. This can be done with the mirror on the truck. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=6lBvY_8vFXE Last edited by 95 S_Trucker; 02-17-2019 at 07:44 PM. |

Re: A potentially expensive mishap.....
Ok, been away on business for a couple of days....back again now.
1st: Mel, many thanks for that offer....and I might take you up on it. The only thing is that I had a commitment to buy a set so I'm waiting to see if that goes through successfully....but I'll keep you posted or send you a PM. Who knows.....maybe I'll buy a spare, lol....given that I don't want to have to go through this again if I can help it. Damn tho'.....you wouldn't think a frikkin' mirror would be hard to find or expensive. As a 2005 I don't consider my truck to be all that old...particularly because it is Duramax model....and I have no interest in wading into the 'modern costs' much of what newer vehicles cost generally speaking. For the O.E.M cost of $950+ for a new one...I could do a complete cam and intake swap...with a valve grind to boot, lol. Go figure... more to come on this....hopefully some good, All good Coley
