I by the way probably have these same GM dealer ads that Gee Emm is taking about with "Actual" pictures (Not Cartoony Drawings) of the 70' model year truck with Grilles that have continued lines to the headlight bezel. Even Blazers 69-70 the same.
It may be true that two or more companies produced 69-70 Grilles as said by Mrein3 "There was probably at least two grill manufacturers back then which would account for the two different styles we see today. I bet one plant made them for the line only and the other made grills for the assembly line and for overstock. I'll also bet the ones we see today as NOS came from the cheaper supplier and that is probably why they got the overstock contract. " This to me makes sum sence but it still makes the "none continued lines grille" "reproduction" grilles as they are not the ones that were "primarily" used on production lines. Just a thought... Hey Gee Emm you got any pics of your Dads truck Resto? I'd love to see it...

Here is a really old picture of it.
I have a bunch of pictures but I would have to scan them in I started doing a total frame off resto on it about 10 years ago. Took EVERYTHING apart. Frame powdercoated, remote battery relocation, front and rear sway bars, disc brake 5 lug conversion, lowered, converting a 72 air cab to look like a 70 cab, stripped all the sheet metal bare, etc etc etc. |

My 69 has the original outter grille but it has an inner grille out of a 70, and the area by the side marker is compleletly blacked out, I noticed that on some trucks that it wasn't like that but I just assumed that the paint wore off, huh learn something new everyday

Re: 69-70 grill differences (again)
here is my all original 69 c30 , 33,000 orig miles(never apart) and my 70 c10 , 62000 orig miles , original paint (never apart), they both have lines all the way to the bezels and the gold 70 has chrome bezels and black inserts , red 69 has painted grey bezels and grey inserts.

Re: 69-70 grill differences (again)
Hear is a side note to think about. When the GM Parts warehouse places an order for parts they they come from a supplier, not from the factory.

Re: 69-70 grill differences (again)
Looks like possibly a repro grill with 71-72 bezels. 69-70 bezels are steel and black.

Re: 69-70 grill differences (again)
That's what I thought too based on digging around different places, but so many of these trucks have been messed with and modified slightly, even if accidentally, since all bezels now days seem to be chrome or anodized aluminum with a note to paint it black myself to match 1970. Google image searching is just about useless for it for finding stock pics.
