Re: The 71Dragtruck thread
I just noticed the AFR sensors. Are you doing a data system or stand alone AF?

Re: The 71Dragtruck thread
Not looking forward to painting my cage one bit! I hate painting, and masking even more.
It's a FAST dual stand alone unit, have to see how it is with the slip on collectors, will need to make sure the slip fit is good, anti seize them.

Re: The 71Dragtruck thread
Cool. I'm still waiting to get an RPM or Racepack. I put the bungs in my collectors. Just need the cash and the time. All I've been doing since my first race is fixing everything but the truck.

Re: The 71Dragtruck thread
Racepack would be nice for sure, this one does have playback, so can play it and my tach back at the same time, be nice to monitor other things too.
The way this forum is looking these days, maybe us couple non lamebook guys should just exchange numbers and text each other pics, be way easier LOL.

Plate insert out of aluminum and light mounted, have to keep it street legal and all, I actually got a ticket for no light once on this truck when a teen, what a dick cop, LOL.

Re: The 71Dragtruck thread
Looks good. I didn't think you were going to drive it on the street anymore?

Re: The 71Dragtruck thread
Yeah was just a bit of sarcasm, it’s street days are pretty much done besides crossing the street in front of my house to load it into my trailer in the church parking lot, but I’m keeping valid tags on it for insurance and street car events.

Re: The 71Dragtruck thread
Well went this weekend and picked up my truck, here it is loaded up in the trailer and strapped down.
And again unloaded and in the garage ready for the new motor and many other things to be done. One last picture of the old motor before it comes out.

Re: The 71Dragtruck thread
Alrighty, been picking away at the truck as much as I can, work getting in the way but bills must be paid, the cold I've had for a good week now that's a different story, anyway imagine a bunch of crap work, under the truck with a grinder and zip disc removing old brackets that will never be used again along with the steady bearing crossmember I do not need anymore, and bumpers are off to paint.
Old motor and trans are out. Cage is painted New motor is in.

Re: The 71Dragtruck thread
Today was like Christmas Day except way more expensive LOL.
Converter came, two piece hybrid billet drive steel cover from Hutch Transmissions. Reid cased TH400 also from Hutch M300 shafts, billet reaction career, straight cut 2.10 start gears, 36 element pro mod sprag, billet aluminum direct drum bla bla bla. And headers are back from Top Gun. back to work I go, no rest for the wicked or me.

Re: The 71Dragtruck thread
Thanks, the Reid case is a very rare item at the moment, they had to change foundries and haven't produced any for months now, I was very lucky to get my hands on it, Hutch gave up his personal case he bought for himself for me.

Re: The 71Dragtruck thread
Shooting for the 25, 26 weekend so hopefully it drives under its own power into the trailer the 24th, won’t have a hood and will likely have to put the steel bumpers back on it for a bit.

Re: The 71Dragtruck thread
Well spent time breaking all my old AN fittings off of steel braded hose as I'm switching them all to Nomex line, that's a few hours of my life I'll never get back!
Mounted my regs and mocked up all the fittings so I could order what I need, now time to start building the hoses.

Re: The 71Dragtruck thread
The plumbing is a love hate thing for me. With all the plumbing I had to do this round I'm glad it's over. You just anticipate the desired outcome. Now's the time to make any changes for you though. If you want to move anything.

Re: The 71Dragtruck thread
It's all moved from where I had it, black fittings would have been nice but way too many to replace now, just trying to plumb it all out of the way this time to work on the valvetrain.

Re: The 71Dragtruck thread
Well plumbing is pretty much done, trans cooler, overflow and all the forward fuel lines, just have to do the suction side of the pump.
