Re: move engine forward question
Yes its 3/4 ton. Thats what it looked like when I got it. only useable pieces of body was the rad support and some of the brackets. I have a cab, doors and hood but still need fenders, front trim, and bumper guard.
using original frame, front axle, and sm420 Replacing orginal rear with a 14bolt from 99 1ton single wheel. |

Re: move engine forward question
update
Used individual side motor mounts. engine 2 inches forward from factory. 4L80e fixed yoke tranny. used lsx mount adapters with pass side cut to clear a/c pump and drivers side not modded. pass side mount 2 holes back from the drivers side one. drivers side forward as far as possible to gain steering box clearance. So far so good. |

Re: move engine forward question
On to the next issue.
to use the 4L80e the factory rear crossmember must be removed. What is everyone using to keep the frame from flexing at the spring hangers when doing this? This is an issue for me since I'm keeping the I-beam axle and not gaining an under the engine crossmember. |
