Count me in too, but would like to know a price estimate before totally commiting. they say it would be too expensive because the glass is curved, but don't they they make new windows for vehicles that have curved glass? How much do new windows cost for some other vehicles with big curved glass? I'm sure it would cost a little more due to production levels and design but i don't see why the cost would be outta this world.

Pardon my ignorance of manufacturing procedures, but they already have a template of the 'curveture' of the glass in the stock glass itself. Technically, all they would need to do is increase the overall dimensions to include the wing window area as well as the shape of the wing window area.

I have a door that I am going to cut open to access the inside easily. I know a glass guy that can make curved glass. Also I am working on having a 3/16" metal template made to do some testing with this glass guy to see what I can come up with. Does anyone know where I can get some window felt with the channel in it for these?? Also does anyone know what if any diffrences in the doors from 73-87?? I am going to try this with power windows as most people either have them or want them. It should work the same with both.

Hell yea! Put me in the pool of drool.
I have been waiting for someone to come out with a one piece side window for years! Found these guys .... http://www.alcappautoglass.com/ Their web site says..... We are working on getting custom curved glass in laminated and tempered! Check back for updates on this and other additions. Not a kit but glass would be better than nothing. |

I'm in for one as long as we are talking about a quality kit, that is, we are obviously going to have new rubbers and some modifications/additions/changes to the tracks, guides and regulator assembly. We must also address the inherent weakness in these trucks stock power window motors (if so equipped) Will they be adequate for for the additional stress of the one piece glass (if any)?
Basically, there's more to this kit than the curvature of the glass, don't get me wrong, I would love to have it but I won't commit my money until I know what we will receive is a quality (daily use) product. |

I would be in too if it includes everything such as weatherstripping, tracks etc. Of course since I would only need half the weatherstripping for the Jimmy mine should be cheaper right? :p

It would really suck if someone decided to smash your window out though. Would make it more difficult to get replacement if only the one place was making them, plus the cost of the glass itself would be high. Doesnt mean I am out though, just something to consider for us daily driver guys.
