A little off topic here but...What is your method of painting those rotors and keeping the paint off the friction surfaces?

Thanks,

I use wax and grease remover and then mask off the disc friction faces , Then I use High temp caliper paint . I works for me .

Thanks Grumpy, Appreciate the parts list. I also have a 67. Going to paint the rotors as soon as the weather warms up. Got’em from Summit, and had some slight shipping damage so they sent me another set. Shipper never picked up the damaged ones.

Re: Front disc brakes question

Awesome parts list! This should help me tremendously. Is the only way to drop the front of the truck with drop spindles? I have see 2 inch drop springs and assumed they were used to drop with stock spindles. If I get drop spindles do I just use factory height springs?

Re: Front disc brakes question

Is it possible to use the stock spindles, (70 drum brakes). With stock 71/72 disc brake setup? Thanks

Re: Front disc brakes question

You cannot use a drum brake spindle in a disc brake swap. If you have access to 71/72 spindles you will need ball joints for 71/72 and be good to move ahead. I did my first disc brake conversion when I was 20 but I got everything out of the 72. That was 30 years ago now.
