My suggested addition: All roads must have passing lanes. Passing lanes must have passing lanes.

This is a great idea but it ain't gonna work because women and booze have been mentioned. There is no combination that results in an even number there.

Re: Planned Community Covenants

Wilcox Arizona has a parcel for sale that is 3660 acres.
At .4 acre it equates to over 9k homes/garages. FYI
No HOA either.

Re: Planned Community Covenants

I was reading and wondering how the spouses will fit into all of this. Not an issue for me. Wouldn't matter anyway since I'm just the developer. I'd never live in a planned community or a place with covenants. Did you all forget? Just working an angle here for a quick buck. Info for making deposits coming shortly, now that my market survey has shown positive interest

Re: Planned Community Covenants

Ok, Ok, but let's hold off on this kind of talk until I at least collect a few lot deposits. Covenants protect us from the undesirable things in life. They assure a level of decency and a better standard of living... if all you want to do is pull your new to 5 year old vehicle up, walk in the door, and stay until you have to leave to go to work, and pay for all the services in life so you can do nothing

Me too.

But old trucks, Hooters girls, and cold beer might make me think again. Yeah... I might be able to deal with that.

Somehow, I feel like this proposed utopia is going to get you in trouble.

Note to self; Maintain extra bedroom for FSPaul.

Just tell old Rover to clear some space in the dog house. That'll do.

Over by the club house would be the dog house condos, one per lot.

This is a community founded on decency and a higher level of living. What you describe is encouraged and all we ask is that you keep it limited to the area behind the home. If that becomes an issue there is a community junkyard area reserved with parcels available for rental

Re: Planned Community Covenants

Where I live you can do pretty much as you damn please except let your dogs run loose to harass livestock. That will get them shot.

There are fancy places and junky places right next to each other. There's not many people restoring old pickups because they are just keeping them running and using them for pickup stuff.

I actually keep our place looking fairly nice, but still a bit rustic and not too nice because that might make it a target for thieves. The inside is another matter It's about like that scene from "Wooly Boys" where the fed walks in and says "okay, there's been a burglary" and the adult daughter of the old man says "no, it always looks this way"

That's funny. When I was single I lived in a not so good neighborhood. I came home one night and my front door was wide open.

My girl freaked out and called the cops. They went in with guns drawn. Then came out and told me my back bedroom had been ransacked. I went in and looked at it and said "No. That's just my spare room. Looks fine to me" I'm such a slob.

Re: Planned Community Covenants

I like my stuff organized.

I lived in the country until a few years ago. I had a shop and then an enclosed shed for builders and my parts rigs were over the hill where they couldn't be seen from my house or by the neighbors.

It was funny to watch people when they came to our place for the first time. They would get out and start looking around like they were lost. Knowing my habit they were expecting to see vehicles everywhere.

"organized" is subjective …

A pile of lumber over here, a pile of scrap iron over there ...
