Thanks BigMac & Dirk! I had to fight temptation to go the stroker route and keep it within a reasonable budget. Maybe next time...my cousin gave me a nice late 350 block with 1-piece rear seal and roller cam provisions which would give me a good start on a 383. I'm trying to convince my brother to use it with a roller cam in his '68 C10, but I think he's firm on using my dad's 327/375 vette motor. My dad still has the invoice from when he bought the long block from a dealer, so I think it would be better to preserve the engine and hang the invoice in a frame on the shop wall, but whatever my bro wants to do is OK with me.
