Re: Door weather stripping

And im not just blowing around ideas here. I have been building these trucks for 35 years.
I finished my 72 K10 last year with precision glue on seals, doors shut great. Passenger side not as good as drivers side but no slamming either.
My crew cab has precision push on seals on all 4 doors, they all shut real easy.

All my doors are fully assembled and they did not shut nearly as well when not fully assembled.
I have either new of very carefully inspected door latches and used but carefully inspected striker plates.
I dont have all the rubber bumpers installed in the crew cab yet.

Re: Door weather stripping

Here are a few pics. First shows where door stops with weather strip. Second
shows weather strip and bumpers. Third shows door closed with bumpers but no weather strip. Fourth tries to show some of the gap for weather strip.

Re: Door weather stripping

Pics of mine, pass side weather strip is tight and deformed at front, both lower bumper super squished when closed.
Pass side shuts fine but needs a firm push. Driver is great.
Doors resting on weatherstrip they are far from closed.

Re: Door weather stripping

Used rubber bumpers on new paint because they are soft and fit right, new ones prevented good door closure.

Re: Door weather stripping

I need to adjust both doors on my 67 c10. My question: What is easier, removing each fender individually or go ahead and pull the front cap?

It appears that 67 fenders are harder to remove than on my 71 (just with a quick look - but it could be there were so many bolts missing from the 71 fenders).
