Engine starting problem.

That's a pretty slick setup, but I have a bunch of stuff in that spot already, like the trailer disconnect switch and the relays for the headlights. I have a line running to a burp bottle on the other side of the truck, which is OK, but not too clean.

'74-78 Chevy Nova overflow tucks completely inside the fender, except for the fill cap. The contoured side rests on the inner fender and hangs be one screw on the lip of the fender.
I have relays and a small fuse panel that doesn't interfere with the overflow bottle.

I like the overflow can you got. Pretty cool to find out you can use things from the newer stuff that works on our trucks.

I just scanned RockAuto. They don't seem to stock the Reservoir jug, just the cap in certain years.
Was it a dealer item? Or a junkyard peice now, or do any of the resto parts houses carry them? A new one would be needed. Any plastic jug that age in an Arizona junkyard would be brittle plastic or just small white pieces in the dust by now.
Nova's have been off my radar.
But I like the shape.

Just got my '75 Nova radiator coolant overflow bottle from Jegs. Looks like a quality piece. Since I'll have to do some exploratory surgery to R&R the Battery and Battery Box, I'll have to get to it later since the Orange Stepside is my daily driver.
Will I need a special overflow-type radiator cap to use it? Right now I have a 16 PSI Stant cap. Also there was no overflow bottle cap included, so I'll have to get one from Rock Auto, as well.

Try your local flaps under Dorman "Help" part #82590. Dorman says it fits a slew of GM vehicles 1975 - 2000. Under $4.

RichardJ -- Thanks. RockAuto has the same part for $2.52 but when you figure in S&H+ state tax, it's about even with the FLAPS. Also want a new Rad cap.
I have a 16 PSI steam-lever Stant on now. It's so old, it's USA-made.
Do I really need a fresh one, and since I have no A/C should it be 13 PSI?

Actually, Washer Bottles is another interesting side trip. My diversion was about Radiator Overflow Reservoirs. I think Jeep Guys call them ''Puke Tanks'' which is a currently important topic for me, as I'm doing a job at a site 32 miles away, and have to run about 20 of them flat out [at 70 MPH -- ''All she's Got, Cap'n...''] on the freeway. The full-Sun Arizona Summer is just beginning to bloom with triple digit temps. An overflow can is an innovation for an original '68 C/10.
