Re: Window felt install question
Probably length and the bend in the back might be different

Re: Window felt install question
New ones just came in, hopefully they will fit.
New ones have the smaller clip.

Re: Window felt install question
I hope that they work 4 you. I wonder if it is possible to make your own clips somehow Or relocate the existing ones

Re: Window felt install question
Cant wait to see how these work for you. I hated mine going in and still hate them every time I roll the windows up.

Re: Window felt install question
I bent the mounting tabs on the doors outward a bit in hopes of when the window roles up the lower window frame won't be trying to push the fuzzes up/out.

Re: Window felt install question
I did the same thing after buying four different sets from different companies I found very little difference But by bending the tabs out word and grinding down the edge of the channel so it wasn’t so blunt has worked pretty well I feel a little bump as the channel makes contact But all in all works pretty well If I ever do another one I believe the window channels favor the outside of the door and I would look into seeing if that could be corrected

Re: Window felt install question
The ones I purchased from Rubber the Right Way did seem to be better quality. However, the window channel still hits the bottom of these. I think the only way to completely eliminate this would be to use a piece of rubber extruded in an L shape. I also don’t see how the felt keeps water out. I should have taken some pictures and video of the window before I disassembled it. Would be nice if someone could post a pic or video of a factory setup - there’s gotta be a few out there that have never been touched.

Re: Window felt install question
I have been told they are not meant to keep water out of the door but rather to keep the window from rattling. The holes in the bottom of the door let the water out.

Re: Window felt install question
I just did these on my 64....royal pain in the ... however i did figure out that if you remove the rubber bumper inside the door it allows the window to go down a wee bit further, allowing a little more clearance to get the felts snapped in, and yes they do go behind the rubber channel, at least that's how I did mine.

Re: Window felt install question
I know there's a stop bar that doesn't allow the glass to lower any more that that. I wonder if a rubber piece goes there? Or as usual am I just over thinking this?
Anyone near their truck that can look down the inside of the door and see if it has a hole in it? Maybe for a push on rubber bumper?

Re: Window felt install question
That’s interesting because I did notice that after I had my electric windows installed they go down about .5” below the the window frame but before that they stopped flush with the frame. I wonder where the rubber bumpers attach.

Re: Window felt install question
There is a metal stop bar halfway down the inside of the door. If there is only a hole there the rubber pad is missing. Mine were still there albeit very dry and rotten. Nonetheless with that rubber bumper removed it gives you another 1/4 inch of play. Still difficult, but manageable and maybe 50% less colorful language.

Re: Window felt install question
I'm glad to see this thread. I was going to be posting some of these same questions soon..
I'm patiently waiting for my parts to come in from GMC Paul's truck parts (I just ordered them this weekend). Once they get here, I will be reloading both of my new (to me) doors.

Re: Window felt install question
I left my glass sitting loose in the bottom of the door until the felts were in then I installed the glass and then the vent window

Re: Window felt install question
Does anyone know that size and type of head the 2 bolts that hold the window channel to the tract that the little plastic wheels run through.
