At 6'1" my only issue was that school bus steering wheel! I put in a smaller Grant while I save up for a nicer billet

I'm 5'11" and around 200lbs. My truck fits me perfectly....steering wheel and everything. I love it.

If you want a bigger truck, go 73'-87. Those things are ALOT bigger that these trucks.....legroom is several inches longer, and the cab feels 6" wider too (dunno if it really is though)

I'm 6'4 and I feel comfy driving mine. People tell me i looked cramp though. I guess i'm just used to it. I took out the semi steering wheel in mine and got a smaller one, but the only bone i got is when i put it in low gear the shifter always hits my knee. Otherwise I love that dang bench seat. It's comfy as heck

LOL I feel the same way. I'm 6'2" and it kinda sucks. I'm used to it, just bend my knees more. But I do feel like a clown after I drive one of my parents vehicles for awhile, then get in my truck and go into the fetal position. I have the factory wheel and bench seat. I think my seat sucks, not bad for around town, but it gets old quick when doing a 400mi trip (I look forward to gas stops, makes me happy to have the seat tank)!!!

I just don't understand why we have these 'too many turns' lock-to-lock steering boxes, power steering, AND a huge steering wheel. Sure it is super easy to turn (too easy IMO), but... I just need to buy a smaller wheel.

Im 6'1'' 230-
Im kinda wide- Lift weights a lot, So I feel stuck against the door when I wear my seatbelt. I've got a problem with my legs too... I dont like were the door latch is located. Sometimes when I get out, I crack my knee on the latch or the knob for the window. Im considering buying new bucket seats- just for this problem.

Were people just smaller back then???

My truck is a 69 with a bench seat. I am 6'2 so the leg room is not bad but I have a big belly. I am getting a smaller steering wheel next spring.

Well I am 6'8" and 285 lbs, I think the cab of the truck is comfortable, but for long trips 150+ miles yes I do need to get out and unfold the legs.

Now If I could just stop hitting my head on door ways I would be happy !

I'm 5'7" with 03' isuzu rodeo buckets. I sit about an inch lower than the stock bench and have all the headroom that I could ever want.

Beefcake,
I've got the same problem, but not when I'm getting out, just when I'm drving. The door handle digs right into the back of my knee.

Well, I just bought my 68 a few weeks ago. I remeber them being alot bigger when I used to ride in my grandpa's 67 when I was like 10 years old.

I'm 6'1". Have ChooChoo Custom bucket seats, in cab gas tank (not for long) and a 90's S10 steering column. My main complaint is leg room, wish I could stretch out my legs a little more.

It aslo seems like my steering column is a little lower than normal. Of course it's not the normal steering column. But, I've got to plan my exit so I don't crack my knee on the column.

Does it look a little lower than a stock column??

6'4" and 300lbs. I have a set of buckets that help a little, but was unable to use the 2003 Tahoe, power buckets that I bought. They put me up to high, and to close. I have a tilt wheel now, but do not have the truck back together yet to really try it out.

LippyP,

That is funny. When I was stationed in Italy, I had a Chinquacento, Fiat 500, with the slide back canvas roof; like a sun roof. The seat rails had been moved back, and I could sit straight up, pop my head up and drive with my head sticking out the top. I could get it going 110Kph down a good hill.

Dang, there must be something wrong with the seat I have in my 72. I'm 5'5" and 170 with a non tilt, stock steering wheel and a 93 Chevy bench, and I feel cramped. I'm hoping when I put in the new blazer tank and take out the one in the cab that I'll gain a little more room.

I’m 6’4” and no little guy, I find it a bit cramped but wouldn’t get rid of the truck for it. The thing that bugs me the most is not being able to see the stop lights without leaning over some. It would be nice to find a shorter seat to gain a little more headroom.

I am 5'8" and i have an 88 model seat in my truck and an 87 model steering wheel, now my LITTLE brother is 6'2" and has a size 14 foot and hates to sit in the driver seat, he only likes to drive it cause I have the loudest street legal truck in town and he gets attention in it, personally i dont see how he can complain about space when he drives an elcamino.

6'4" and 240. Fits fine with bucket seats, tank out of cab, tilt wheel and aftermarket steering wheel.

I'm 5'9" and when I had the stock bench I was comfortable. Now I have mid 80s daytona buckets in there and can't seem to get them right.

Originally they were too low, so on a long cruise my ankle to leg angle had to be like less than 90 degrees, so my calf would start hurting. A few weeks ago I raised the seat up, and now I hit my legs on the small steering wheel when I get in and out. I don't think my seats fit the truck to well, to thick of padding in the back...I've been messing with them off and on for about 4 years and still am not happy with the fit of them.

I've got a 2000 Chevy seat with a console. I haven't gotten it back from the interior shop yet, but I'll let y'all know how they fit (and how I fit...I'm 5'8")...

I'm 5'11, and 220. It seems a little lacking in head room on the pass. side, but just right in the driver's side, thanks to my worn out bench seat Sometimes i feel sorta like a preying mantis, cuz i can't straighten my arms out while holding the wheel, though!

I'm 6' 1" and just put a set of 2000 Silverado Seats with fold-down center console in my 70 Chevy. My original bench was broken on the driver's side and sagging bad, so with the new seat in there I feel a little close to the roof. I HAD to take the gas tank out to get the seats to fit somewhat good in the cab, but I think I'm going to cut the cab and extend it a bit due to the lack of legroom.
