Re: 64 C10 project
Had to pull the OEM bench seat out and send it out to a different upholster guy. The foam was about 2 " too thick and the guy that did the work is in jail.
So.....gonna hafta pay twice to git 'er dun right. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr Today we'll be conducting continuity checks on all the lights, accessories and gauges after installing the front clip. More pics coming after clip install. |

Re: 64 C10 project
I'm guessing from the "Y" and "D" I can make out on that bumper, that it says Boyd Mullen Chev Pasadena Tx.

Re: 64 C10 project
Well aren't you a steely eyed investigator.
There were two welds where the bumper had been abused and cracked and one of my guys "re-engraved" a couple of letters that the welds had damaged. That was done after the pic. I'll have new pics up once we install the bumper. |

Re: 64 C10 project
My father was a Chevy dealer in that east Houston market from 1958 to 2010, so I was very familiar with the names of the dealers around Houston in the 60's. And I hung hundreds of those dealer-installed bumpers in those days.

Re: 64 C10 project
That is really cool. Your finger prints may be all over this one.
My uncle that bought it new lived in Bellaire which is west central Houston. He probably saved $10 by driving to Pasadena to buy it vs Jimmy Green or Courtesy which were closer. |

No, we were a little farther east, in Winnie. So I didn't get my hands on yours!

Re: 64 C10 project
Time for the unveiling.
All complete including the wooden console that my dad built back in the 70's. Ooops. So excited about doing a photo shoot that we forgot to install the bed steps after removing for paint touch-up. Threw in some additional eye candy in the background. Enjoy. |

Re: 64 C10 project
Oh the memories...
Driving to the hunting lease 3 abreast - my dad, my brother and I. We had a ritual of stopping at the halfway point in Hempstead, TX to get a dip cone at the DQ. My bro and I are planning to make that road trip in the spring. The time I high centered it on a dirt road at the deer lease and had to walk 4 miles to find a farmer with a tractor to pull it out. My last traffic ticket (40 years ago) for an illegal left turn at S. Shepherd and W. Alabama in Houston. Grrrrr. Hauling building materials to my brothers log cabin that the 3 of us built in the late 80's. I could go on and on. |
