1973 -77 you have to change the wiper motor, add a wire to the harness, and modify the wiper switch hole in the dash.

1978-83 You change the dash switch and plug the delay module between the delay switch and the dash harness. The delay boxes are less common for these years.

1984-91 is a different delay module and the switch is in the column so it's a lot more involved but the same idea.

For 78-83 is there any modification to the harness needed if not originally equipped with delay?

Nope. Plug it in and install the correct switch.

Yep, easy as this. For some reason someone removed my delay module in my 82 but kept the delay switch. I simply plugged in the delay module from my parts truck and all was good.
