I received the vinyl stickers from your daughter, and they look great! I applied one to a lens just now. A couple of the numbers peeled up when the unneeded vinyl was being removed, so those numbers had to be put back down manually. Overall, it looks great, in my opinion. I'd like to explore the possibility of getting the stickers made in a light green that would more closely match the original color.

On a side note, I am still talking to a print shop about direct-printing the text onto the lens. They are going to be printing me a sample.

Yep. She said Cricut doesn't have a good color match, but there are a couple of other brands that might.

I found a good deal on a used Cricut machine locally, so I went and got it last night. I went to the craft store, and the closest color I could find there was mint green. It's a little too green, but it seems to stand out slightly less than white.

So how do you remove the old numbers?
Mine is brand new, and if I can remove the numbers with isopropyl alcohol, it won’t hurt the plastic at all.

I used a Harbor Freight polishing wheel chucked in a drill with white polishing compound. Took about 5 minutes. I would be worried about using any sort of solvent on the plastic because it might make it foggy.

I lit up the white using a flashlight on the rear of the lens. The stickers seem to light up just fine. If you look very closely you can tell that they are stickers because there are variations in how well each number is stuck to the lens. Spending time pushing on the numbers helps. I forgot to check how the green sticker lit up.

I ordered some vinyl in a color called retro mint that appears to be slightly less bright than regular mint. Judging a color based on how it looks on the computer is questionable.

Redline gauge used to print on lenses. I have been meaning to call and see about getting another diesel tach lens done. I like the sticker option though.

I bought a set of color samples of adhesive-backed vinyl. The sage color matches the best. I'm going to order some of this material.
