Re: Favorite Candy
Dark chocolate covered raisins from a local chocolatier. They cost about a million dollars a pound. Once you eat their chocolate you will never eat another Hershey Bar. My wife says it aint worth the calories.

Re: Favorite Candy
Fall always brings candy corn. I love it. Also, I'm a huge peanut brittle fan. There's a candy company in Arkadelphia, Arkansas called Juanita's that makes peanut, pecan, & cashew brittle. Gallon buckets of the stuff don't last long around my house!

Re: Favorite Candy
The See's Awesome Nut & Chew Bar is #1 on my list. It makes all those Hersey & Mars candy bars seem like child's play.
But I will still won't pass up a Whatchamacallit, Heath, 100 Grand, Reese's Sticks or Chick-O-Stick.

Re: Favorite Candy
I just had a bacon and lettuce sandwich for lunch.. no tomato unfortunately. Bacon is my favorite Candy.
My mom and grandma made some fantastic peanut brittle back in the day!!! I sure do miss that stuff..so now my go to is peanut m&ms or almond m&ms.

Re: Favorite Candy
Don't get me wrong. I love bacon as much as the next guy. Probably more.
But... It has it's place. The new trend seems to be to put it on anything and everything. To me, It belongs next to a side of eggs or a BLT, or on a cheeseburger. Not on ice cream or something weird. Just leave it alone. It's fine the way it is. I feel the same way about Bleu Cheese. They put it on everything now. It belongs in salad dressing. I don't particularly like Bleu Cheese but my favorite salad dressing is full of it. Just don't throw it on everything. I guess that I'm stuck in my old ways.

Re: Favorite Candy
Yep a while back the craze was bacon on a maple bar/donut so I tried one.....no thank you, way, way overrated. To me they destroyed a perfectly good donut and a perfectly good piece of bacon.

Re: Favorite Candy
every christmas the local store has the tub of spice drops that is just green spearmint and red cinnamon. love em, and they are only available for about a month then gone so works well. my kids grew up on em too, one time we found one that was a perfect split between green and red, so we saved it. my wife found it a lot of years later and THREW IT AWAY, said we could just make another like we made that one. arrrrgh.

I can't even find cranberries in the market until the holidays. I like cranberry sauce on a lot of stuff all year long. And the canned stuff isn't nearly as good as I make it. And whatever happened to the toasted coconut marshmallows? I loved them as a kid. Haven't seen them in years.

I looked for them today too. I got zero. I don't even remember what they were. Never had one. Apparently I'm not the only one. I don't think that Zero was the best choice to name a candy bar. It insinuates that you get nothing. They need to reserve that name for taxes.

Re: Favorite Candy
I’m wondering if there was candy in the safe?
Zero is not a number. It’s a placeholder or candy. Zip,zilch, nada, nothin’,zero…goose egg.

That's because you have never eaten Sister Ludmilla's fruit cakes.... When I was on the Davenport Fire Department Sister Ludmilla made Fruit Cakes for all of the department members that had to work on Christmas day. Only problem was that she put so much Brandy in them that we weren't allowed to eat them while we were working. We had to take them home...... If you weren't a drinker those things would knock your socks off. LockDoc

I guess if you squeezed all the brandy out, you could drink it and run the rest through a saw for door stops.

Re: Favorite Candy
I had a fruitcake around for about 20 years.
But I divorced her. I saw a TV show that showed a place making fruitcakes and believe it or not they actually looked pretty darn good. Maybe you really can polish a turd.
