There must be different Belltech spindles..

Re: C30 steering knuckles

I took a peek under my Squarebody dually & the steering arm is raised & close to the C/L of the spindle hub so it's like what's pictured in post #8. The units posted in post #23 look like they're for 1/2 ton trucks. The bigger HD spindles don't have holes for caliper pins.

I looked on my parts shelf & it looks like my original/stock dually spindles are gone. I know a guy that might have some stockers though but they're probably an easy find from many wrecking yards.

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.

That's okay, I'll do some checking up here in Canada if Scott's don't make this right. I'm sure there are more survivor trucks down your way than around here but we are still buried in snow so makes the searching hard right now..

Keep it in mind if you strike out.

Another possibility is a C10 guy around the Ontario (?) area. He might have some connections that would make it an easier find. I follow him on IG.

Re: C30 steering knuckles

Have another question, are the spindles on a C30 van the same as the C30 trucks, use the same type of calipers with the slide in key..?

Re: C30 steering knuckles

I would bet 'yes' if it's the HD 8-lug (depending on year model). Vans had some quirky stuff but most of the core parts were similar to the similar sized trucks for minimizing costs.

I would want to verify that to be 100% accurate though.

Re: C30 steering knuckles

Just to update where I am I do have a set of stock height steering knuckles now. Scott's themselves wouldn't go out of their way to help me but the guy that took my order from them took it upon himself to source a set and sent them out to me and why they came in the condition they were in..I'll never have anything to do with Scott's again and would never recommend them to anyone, not even to someone I didn't like..

Still not happy about the use of that Heim joint but working at finding a proper tie-rod end
to work.

I was also wondering if anyone knows where I can purchase the dust covers that bolt onto the steering knuckles , the ones I have are from a 88 C30..

I'm not a fan of the heims either but they'll get the job done. I used some on my dually's Panhard bar & haven't had any issues (~7k miles). There are boots available to help keep dirt off of them as well.

Kudos to your parts guy that helped you get what you needed.

Any idea who sells C30 dust covers. Bought some off Amazon that said they were for a C30 but ended up being ones for a C10 and had to ship them back..

I can reach out to a guy & see if he has anything laying around. I'm assuming you're referring to the spindle 'dust shields' correct?
