Much better. Before, you could barely tell the roof was white.

Re: My '71
Found a set of factory headliner panels, but the rear one was in sad shape. I decided to cover them in headliner material and added a 1/2" of foam for insulation and a little more sound deadener.

Found a set of rear cargo panels. They were white, but I dyed them black to match.

Re: My '71
I still have to do both rocker panels and both front cab mounts. All panels have been purchased. This has been a long road to get this far, but it shouldn't be too much longer. I hope...

Re: My '71
Wow!
That’s a transformation. I like all the upgrades, especially the HO 307 and OD. Should be a great runner. Keep up the great work!

You’re doing an awesome job saving the old girl. Looks great. What is that gas tank from? I have a somewhat dual tank setup that gives me around 42 gallons but a single tank would be better I think.

Re: My '71
Looks like a square body Suburban tank. I have one in mine. It requires a little bit of filler tube work to make it fit.

Re: My '71
Looking good. You've accomplished a lot of great work.
Did you have much of a burnt smell inside? If so what did you do to clear it out? I'm looking forward to more updates.

BigDav is right. The 40gal. tank is from an '88 (If I remember) Suburban ordered from LMC.

Re: My '71
I haven't noticed any smoky smell. There was actually very little interior damage. The heat from outside the firewall (fire-wall ) melted some of the fuse block, but that's it.

Re: My '71
I did add two vent tubes to the tank to make the standpipe on the inside functional. There was a little of a mis-allignment of the fill tube that's almost worked out. Still needs a little tweaking. Not bad though.
