Re: 1971 K10 ebay real super ??
I understood everyone's concern, and agree. All good. The original post certainly appears to be an example of someone cloning a Super with intent of profiting from it. Happens a lot unfortunately.

Re: 1971 K10 ebay real super ??
That wording tells me a couple things, I think...
a) current seller has never seen post #4, or original SPID. If he frequents the forum, he's probably not a very happy camper at the moment. b) interesting combo of statements though - if he "thinks" it was originally a swb, wouldn't he also "think" it was originally a Super? It sounds to me like the current seller bought it as we see it now and is reselling. And that he knows folks chop LWBs to become SWBs... But I'm still curious why he only 'thinks' it was originally a swb? That means he doesn't trust the 115 on the SPID, but maybe noticed there are no obvious frame cuts? Lotsa strange here. Oh well. Nice truck, hope someone buys it, knowing what it may or may not be, and enjoys it. |

What I don't understand is, if you are calling it a Super then why not put all the Super equipment on it?

Re: 1971 K10 ebay real super ??
Appears the seller is a consignment dealer. Based on wording of the auction, this is likely consigned. Look at "sellers other items", you will see this is not first attempt at selling if you view their completed items, then view original listing on this truck. It was bid up to 50,000 and reserve was not met. It is highly likely the consignment dealer is unaware of some facts. The more you look the more you learn.

It has been mentioned on here before that some of the consignment sellers add $20k to what ever the seller wants for the truck, as a starting price.... Dunno'. LockDoc

Time to peel that dumb glove box sticker off
And go to Barrett Jackson Where it will most likely bring 70-80k |

Re: 1971 K10 ebay real super ??
A few years back I spoke to one of these consignment operations about taking a car I owned at the time to them to sell. I cannot recall what the percentage was, but they basically were going to charge me to house my car while they attempted to sell it. Obviously a win-win for them, but it became very obvious if it did not sell quickly I would soon be giving the car away. I believe some of the big auction operations charge a commission on the seller, and a buyer premium as well.

Re: 1971 K10 ebay real super ??
Seller is aware it's fake and has read this post
Obviously could care less...it was sold last year On eBay and represented then as a super..after not meeting reserve the original spid was replaced then sold on a later eBay auction....I believe the truck came from Colorado originally |
