Took mine off and checked them. They are 7/16" with 1/4"-28 (fine) threads. All of the nuts I've found online are smooth round (no crown) or high crown. None of them look like the originals so I posted a WTB here on the board for some unpainted originals.

Found some. Here's a comparison pic.
1. From a NOS 3960511 mirror (I assume it's correct) 2. Modern Replacement (slightly shorter than other two but has acorn shape instead of smooth rounded top. Shoulder height looks the same as the painted one. I'd imagine GM may have had multiple sources for this nut over the lifecycle of these trucks) 3. From my truck (I assume it's original but painted) |
