Re: Has anyone built a custom fuel tank
I finally got started on the fuel tank. It's just tacked together right now. I still have to get the filler neck and fittings for the pickup and return

Re: Has anyone built a custom fuel tank
I have built a few tanks in my time. I usually pressure them up a few pounds with air and spray soapy water mix on them, see if anything bubbles. then pressure them up and close the air pressure supply valve. see if the tank pressure drops overnight. like testing a gas line. gotta have an inline guage on the tank side of the air line valve.

Re: Has anyone built a custom fuel tank
A safe low pressure way to dry pressure test a tank is to fasten a balloon to one of the lines, pressure the tank to inflate the balloon and see if it leaks down. That will give you about 1-2psi

Rock valley antique auto makes weld in bungs and filler necks with screw on caps (sealed) to help you with your project. Tanks does as well. I got mine from Rock valley . came with a walbro EFI pump fuel anti starve well and lock ring, return connection and all.

Re: Has anyone built a custom fuel tank
It's finished. All welded out and pressure tested. Now all that's left is a lot of polishing.
