I dunno, some may call me a purist, but whenever I've rebuilt an engine for a customer or for myself, I always go back with factory colors for that particular year.

I like the black, it looks cleaner and makes the chrome stand out more. It would also look good to match to the color of you truck. Pick one of the blues your truck is painted. Pick the dark blue to match your truck and you have both worlds, dark enough to almost be black and make your chrome stand out.

i say blue to match the truck, or black.... orange would be out of place.

my original intake and oil pan were blue.... only took a few times using degreaser on it and it wasnt blue anymore!

depends on what youre doin with the engine bay, if youre making the whole bay black then orange would offset it nicely if its gonna be the body color on the fenders black inner fenders black would look good but it all comes down to a matter of taste

i like chevy orange but i'm used to the '67-'72s...i dont like the black on my '85 blazer...took me forever to figure out that the shop didnt tighten one of the valve covers.
