What I originally noted is that Blueprint is your best value for your dollar. When you can get twice the engine for a few bucks more, why not. Of course no one needs 400hp. But if you are replacing a mosquito fogger that gives you 110hp, well I have to say it is nice to feel the difference.

I get it: I too wanted to just get a run of the mill engine to scoot around with, and I had every intention of getting the most basic and cheapest one available. Problem was, there were none. I was told it would be weeks and likely months until the one I wanted would be in stock. GM Performance (it seemed) had a bait and switch system in place where there would be a "special" on engines that would not even be built until they were paid for. Maybe it has changed now, I don't know. But I know that when I phoned Blueprint they assured me that they did not do business that way: the person on the phone read me the serial number of the engine he wanted me to buy, and when I agreed, it was on my shop floor a week later: and I live in Canada.

One year later the Holley carb seems to have developed a problem. They shipped me a new one no questions asked, with return shipping for the old one paid for. The warranty is just second to none. I plan to buy another as soon as I can.

By all means everyone has to make their own choices and ultimately you know what you want, I just wanted to share my experience.

I also don't like headers, I put Corvette 2.5 inch ram horns on mine.

That type of engine is not in my budget and I just dont need the power. Twice the engine though for a few bucks more might be a little off haha! Without looking my guess is we are talking at least a grand and probably a bunch more ... but saying that I do understand what you are getting at.

The last Summit Engine I installed was in 2018. There was a checklist that came with it to check off before Cam Break In was done. If you go the Jegs or Summit way, you may want to call them to discuss potential warranty issues in case of Break In failures. Won't hurt to ask before purchase. Document the answer also. They may want a shop or "certified" person to do it now. Lots of bad stuff on the net right now on Cam and Lifter problems with the Hydraulic Flat Tappet system.

You can buy Blueprint engine from Summit, Jegs or from them direct, same $.

The iron manifolds I initially installed were from my 67 327 Camaro which had the baby 210 hp heads. They did bolt on but #7 plug boot was right up against them. I suspect stock exhaust manifolds from a 350 would be fine

Their warranty is 30 month/50k mi. They will even pay shop labor $ if there is an issue if you did have a shop install it ($500 or $800 IIRC). My motor fires first crank and has been flawless since. YMMV
