Re: Drop spindle/brake line problem
the top of the spindle at the upper balljoint location is thicker than the stock spindle therefore the metal ends on the caliper side of the rubber brake lines hit the spindle. can I heat this and bend it or is there a better way?

Re: Drop spindle/brake line problem
You can bend it witout heating.
I use a flare nut wrench around the tubing and just bend it enough to clear.

Re: Drop spindle/brake line problem
I just took a small hammer and tapped them down I had really long upper ball joints that protruded past nuts so trimmed them also.

Re: Drop spindle/brake line problem
I wanted to contribute since this thread helped me out. This was on the McGauhy’s drop spindles.
I used the singsong brand brake lines I picked up from RockAuto. I put the banjo/square end in a vice and used a 15/16 box end to bend it. (I had a video but it won’t upload for some reason). A little massaging and it bolted right in. Of course gradual moves and try to avoid pinches. |

Re: Drop spindle/brake line problem
Bringing this one back from the dead - after 5 years.
Thanks for the info! I was having a heck of a time and was worried about bending/breaking the line. A little pressure and boom! Everything fits. Thanks to everyone that had input!
