If you have a radiator shop near by, definitely have it cleaned out and the broken piece soldered back on.
I recently had my 3 core rad serviced, as soon as the Rad shop owner saw it, his eyes lit up and he commented how he loved the good old school rads. I think that says a lot when considering going new
