Re: Eat your heart out fellas.
That's too bad they replaced the V6, now you're gonna get 15mpg instead of the original 8.

Re: Eat your heart out fellas.
That's a swell '67 in a really nice state of preservation.
[My early '68 C/10 Stepside had the fold-forward bench seat. Sorta wished I'd kept it now. But I traded it [in 1977] to a Sgt, +$20, for the '69 Thunderbird bench/bucket-back electric seats I still have now.]

I'm not knocking the truck. I absolutely love it and wish I could have bought it. I'm super glad that you were the buyer with it meaning so much to you and knowing you will cherish it from this point on. But curiosity runs strong in me and seeing a '67 Super Custom or CST that didn't come with buckets runs contrary to what I have learned over these years. If this one in fact never had buckets I'd like to know for sure. I'm not yet convinced.

Re: Eat your heart out fellas.
Is there a center seat back support bracket hiding behind the carpet above the tank? You might be able to feel around for it.

Re: Eat your heart out fellas.
Isn't carpet on the tank a CST thing? Or just for '67 and buckets? My truck has carpet on the tank and a bench seat.

Re: Eat your heart out fellas.
As Special-K mentioned, bucket seats came by default with the CST package in '67. In '68 and up the bucket seats became an option that could be added to the CST package.

So, another one of those '67-only features. I get ever more educated around here!

Re: Eat your heart out fellas.
[QUOTE=special-K;9211905]I wonder the same thing, or it was switched out later for whatever reason. The carpet says it had buckets. GM only put carpet over the tank in bucket seat trucks. The holes for the center seat back bracket should be present.
I'm not knocking the truck. I absolutely love it and wish I could have bought it. I'm super glad that you were the buyer with it meaning so much to you and knowing you will cherish it from this point on. I'm not yet convinced.[/QUOTE Well I`ll tell you guys what.. this carpet is the looped carpet and the color contradicts what the seat door and panals look like so i think im gonna replace it.. Im gonna be pulling the bench and Well see if this has the mounts for a bucket set up.... I wish it had buckets!! but this truck was originally ordered from a Dr. In Los Alamos NM (A bomb lab for you WWll guys) he ordered it with a camper and that bigger bumper with bolted on D rings to tie the camper on to.. I bet he had them swap out to a bench to haul family more comfortable turns out,,,Im the third owner!! QUESTION FOR YOU GUY S SPEAKING OF CARPET...... ON THESE SUPER CUSTOMS, DID THEY PUT CARPET ON THE LOWER PART OF THE DOORS WHERE PEOPLE CUT HOLES TO PUT SPEAKERS? ALSO ON THE KICK PANALS? Oh and ANother update... I get the engine started yesterday after sittiing all those years!!!

Re: Eat your heart out fellas.
No carpet on doors or kicks . Not on any models made from 67 72. The carpet looks like the correct color. Is a v6 and th400 a high hump cab like the big block cabs were? I am not sure on other years but 67 didn't have moulded carpet from the factory. They were sewn together and had a vinyl strip across the hump. They also did not cover under the seat. Just pieces around the edges. 67 68 trucks also had a shaped cardboard around where the jack goes . In 69 I believe they just draped the carpet down without using cardboard

Re: Eat your heart out fellas.
I should have mentioned that I do love this truck as well and I'm not trying to pick it apart. 67 is my favorite. I've had a few but not many other years so I'm limited to what I've had for information.

Re: Eat your heart out fellas.
So is this a super custom with a bench seat? (no spid) Maybe chevy had the buckets standard in 67 and GMC was a separate option?
I still have the original seat for it. Nice truck you just got!

Re: Eat your heart out fellas.
You never know. Being so many 67 gmc truck have no spid and they were made in seperate places than chevys for the years prior thet took longer to get their "stuff" in order.

Re: Eat your heart out fellas.
Beautiful! Good for you that you got this one. That seat and those door panels look great. I’m always glad to see a ‘67 in its original form.
I am under the impression that in ‘67-‘68 the only pickups painted with a two-tone pattern below the side trim were the ‘68 Chevy gold/white 50th packages. Maybe it’s also a GMC thing that I didn’t realize?
