Still needs the glass, which has been impossible to find so far. If anyone knows where I can get a 16-1/2" domed glass for it let me know!

Re: Frank Frazetta - H.G. the BarbariVan
I've been looking for a deal on tires. I've found the cheapest new tire in the size I want for about $135 plus tax. It's not easy to find 15" used tires anymore. They're out there but rarely in the right size. Then age, wear, distance away and price don't line up to a great bargain. Then if all the factors do happen to match up your luck has to be good for you to be at the head of the line because a bunch of other guys are searching for the same deal. Last week I was 2nd in line for exactly what I was looking for.
So then you start to compromise, maybe look at the more common sizes. But you don't pull the trigger because it's not really what you want. Then something else comes along and it wasn't really what you intended to use but another compromise is made. I'm not going to use either of the sets of classic 15" wheels I've got. At least not right now. I picked up a set of 18" wheels that are a fairly classic looking 5 spoke. They had a practically new set of Firestone Firehawk Persuit tires, size 255/60-18 that are the same outside dimensions as what I was originally looking for. Already mounted and balanced but I had to order some lug nuts. The wheels aren't perfect, there's some corrosion around the lug nut area and back side of the wheels. I paid $550, the tires are about $300 each new. The wheels originally were another $300 each but they're not in a condition that would demand anything near that now. Bargain hunting doesn't always work out the way you plan it. Maybe i could have been more patient. But I still like the look. Call it modern classic lol. I'll post better pics after they're mounted. Hopefully tomorrow night.

Re: Frank Frazetta - H.G. the BarbariVan
Okay, before and after...
Just had 1 small problem. While test driving I had some rubbing on the right rear tire when turning left with some bumps. The rears do tuck in a bit but I only have about 1/8" clearance on the passenger side vs 1/2" on the driver side. So the axle is a bit off center. I'm just going to cut a spacer out of a piece of plate to gain that bit of clearance I need. I just bought a plasma cutter so now I can begin to justify that expense!

Re: Frank Frazetta - H.G. the BarbariVan
Still following and thought I'd provide some paint scheme motivation. This was my birthday present last year from my daughter. Hand painted by her. I am almost afraid to wear it because it is too nice.
