UPS will drop ship to your local CVS.
FedEx will drop ship to Walgreens.
Then when get the notification that it was delivered, you go into that store and show your ID to get your package.
Just look online at the respective shippers website, it should list all the stores that they will drop ship too.
I know they will hold packages also at the local hub for pickup, but in my case being in a small town, there are no UPS or FedEx hubs close by. All of them would be at least a 45 min- an hours drive. So that’s what’s nice about the local stores like CVS & Walgreens being used for package pickups.

To help root-cause things a bit….my neighbors and I are going to build a steep-grade roof over the mailboxes, just above the height of the doors so there’s no room to lazily drop packages on top of the mailbox, and they won’t stay on the steep roof.

It’s a start….

People that live in apts rely on this service also. I bet they get their package stolen a lot. It’s too easy if a package is left at ones apt door. Someone can just walk by and grab it.

It’s really a shame that people are that brazen these days to take something that’s not theirs.

In this case, build a drop off bin for small packages. Leave it unlocked, instruct carrier to lock when they close the door. You could use a household door knob with a lock on the inside of your drop off bin. In the case of multiple packages, just hide the key somewhere near and instruct the carrier to unlock and place package.

Fed-Ex will deliver to Dollar General around here.

I trust the ladies at my DG but not some of the other ones up the road.

Noted. Unfortunately 99% of the time, we don’t get any say at all in who the carrier is. The business just picks and you get what you get….let alone being able to request SmartPost or SurePost. RockAuto seems to be the only place I frequent where you can see the carrier. Aside from that it seems to be 100% random

It's the same here, you are told it's coming FedEx or UPS and you are given a tracking number for that carrier.
Next thing you know, it's passed off to USPS (without your knowledge or input) and your tracking number becomes worthless.
With luck, the post office comes through and you get your package.

Wanna bet? I have it done all the time. If the address label says PO box etc. you're correct. You use the physical address of the post office itself and then put your box number next to it like an apt. Been doing it for over 15 years for UPS, FED EX, ON TRAC, you name it. Another helpful way is to get to know the people in the post office so they know you on a first name basis. Not all that difficult, especially when you bring them x-mas cookies

... That works for me too.... It also helps that I live in a small town.
