Re: The wife's 68 GMC

While I'm still out of commission, my wife is working on redoing the bench seat, using a kit from LMC.
We are still in the early stages and she's enjoying the process!

Re: The wife's 68 GMC

In the last 2 weeks, we got the new front LED parking/turn signals wired and installed.
Flushed and replaced hoses on the cooling system.
New windshield.
100 amp alternator.
Replaced the carb and timed the engine again.

It's nice to see some progress again.

Re: The wife's 68 GMC

Since last time:
- I wired the new alternator (as of the last post, we had installed it, but not wired it). Added a 125 amp fuse that the manufacturer recommended. Made new battery cables and rerouted them.
- Installed a fuel pressure regulator and rerouted the fuel lines for it.
- Installed the battery maintainer pigtail so it is hidden better when not in use.
- Dumped the single exhaust in front of the driver's side rear tire. The previous owner had it dumping at the ground in front of the axle. The glass pack that the PO installed sounds horrible. I'll probably go with a Magna-Flow, like I have on my 67 Cutlass. The wife is out of town so she can confirm that she doesn't like the sound either before replacing the muffler. (still might go dual exhaust, just not sure yet.)

Re: The wife's 68 GMC

A single generic turbo type muffler would sound nice, especially compared to your current setup.
