Diesel 6.29 yesterday and med grade gas at 5.59. Between my truck and a couple of diesel cans it destroyed a C note in 15 min.

Re: Gas Pains!

Apparently, living close to the refinery areas doesn't make any difference when it comes to prices. That ain't right!
Our daughter lives close to the coast in La and she pays more than we do.

We can't control gas prices, or the time change from your other post. Why whine about either?

All I know is premium gas is way too high here in WA. so I'm trying to get my Bug back on the road.
Probably gets better mileage than my C-10's 4 barrel 350.

But you'll miss the sound of those secondaries opening up! When my Q-Jet opens up, so does my wallet!

Re: Gas Pains!

Locally here 87 octane is $2.99 up 40 cents within last two weeks. Seen on nightly news that it was mentioned Kansas has one of the lowest statewide gas averages in the country. Sometimes it works out okay to live in "fly over country"

When the weather permits I still definetely plan on getting my '57 2 dr. out from it's winter hibernation and puts some miles on it. I'm sure I will have to make that little mouse motor 283 with the 2x4s carbs, headers and a four speed talk to me. It's still a beautiful sound to this ol man's ears to listen to.

Re: Gas Pains!

You know, there was a sayin "more cow bell" some years ago.
I say "more 4 barrel".
I chose a quadrajet for my 69 instead of FI specifically for that reason.

Good point but you've never heard the sound of my 34PICT opening up either...
Well at least my lawnmower is jealous.

Agreed! Many years ago, I would sometimes pick up my daughter after school. Those big Q-Jet secondaries would sometimes open up (gee, I wonder how that happened?). She loved it, always got a big smile on her face.
