Seriously, other than my collection, there is only one other on the road in a 50 mile radius around here.
I did see a 64-66 lwb 2wd pulling a snowmobile trailer a couple of weeks ago. Damn fool should have be shot with all the salt on the roads around here.

Salt? What's salt?
Oh yeah, isn't that the white powdery stuff that covers our trucks and makes them appear whitish grey in color. I was starting to think that that was the color of my vehicles because I haven't seen the original color since November.

I haven't seen any
Of course i haven't drove my truck since Tuesday, lol. I seem to be seeing less and less every year now. But the ones i see are usually pretty nice. Back home i see quite a few, and most are fixed up, and very few still have stock motors. They seem to be pretty popular hot rods in my area.....of course that is what i am slowly doing to mine, lol. There are alot in junkyards around here, but few good parts. Most are wrecked, rusted, or picked clean through.

I normally see atleast one on my way to/from work. It just so happens to be on the normal route to work. Coming home though I sometimes take a diff route and there is a 69 GMC thats looks pretty decent. Another 69/70 Chevy C10 is sometimes at its home on the way also, young guy drives it. I know of two decent looking GMCs that have been parked for quite a while near my house. And several in the area that I occasionally see runnin around. One Orange/White 71 going in the opposite way on the highway as me going home from work that looks decent also. A friend recently sold his 68 C10 prior to PCSing to a new base for $500. There are 2 nice 63-66's I sometimes see on base here, one red/white and the other was recently sold by a Colonel that had the 305 V-6 and was pretty nice.
Always looking out for'em.

On my way home from work today, I saw an awesome '67-'68 short bed fleetside. Solid yellow, lowered front and rear, no bumpers, sitting on a trailer. Not too far from the house. I'll take the camera with me tomorrow and take a pic. Perhaps meet a board member, who knows.

I went to play some cards yesterday at a near by casino. My buddy drove so I got to be a passenger for a change. In a three block stretch I saw 10 or so. Most days I see 2 or 3 dozen 67-72. I have my eye on a 72 Cheyenne Super, 402, tilt, tach, air, factory buckets / console etc. that is for sale for $2500. These trucks are all over this area.

I read electric meters sometimes when I am out in the rural areas I see quite a few out in fields and in yards. Today I seen a 71 SWB 4x4 in a driveway it was pretty beat up. I also seen a 70-72 GMC LWB in a cow pasture I got close up to it looked good it was pretty stright little rust on the rockers. And I see mine in the driveway everyday.

Bowtie67,
I agree with you. If I do happen to see one it is a 71 or a 72 and that is a rarity. 69's and 70's are even rarer. The 67's and 68's, well, other than mine and one other that I know of I think that I stand a better chance of seeing purple elephant than one of those. When I bought mine it was the first one that I had seen in the classifieds (one that was affordable) in a long, long time. The funny thing is that I was second in line for it. The other guy put a down payment on it and even said that he was going to show up the following week to pick it up. The owner said the guy was very excited because he said that he had been searching for one for years. I was dissappointed when the owner told me that it was sold but he took my number down just in case the other guy changed his mind. Well, I got a phone call from the owner the day after the other guy was supposed to pick it up. He told me the guy never showed up or called him and told me that if I still wanted it I could come and pick it up. I was there with money in hand first thing the next day and took her home with me. The other guy never came back for his deposit so the owner sold it to me for his asking price minus the other guys deposit. I lucked out and wondered if the other guy ever showed up. I'll bet he wasn't a happy camper if he did show up for it. Sorry to ramble on guys but these babies are very rare around here and I feel very lucky to have my 67.

5 daily drivers in the city, one 70 in Palatka FS and several junkers in St. Augustine. Several in Jacksonville. Occasionally see one in Daytona Beach.

You guys in the rust belt are killing me. I didn't realize these things were getting uncommon.
Around here, I can usually find a short bed driver for under 2k if I look a couple of weeks. I usually do one truck every year or so. There are still plenty around here that don't need rockers replaced or anything. That's a 6 cylinder column shift truck usually. A decent 71-72 Super short bed with any kind of options will start at 5k and up. I've never looked at buying a long bed, I'm sure they're a lot cheaper.

on average i will see 5 or six a day. most of them are 4x4 longbeds. once in a while i will see a swb. k5 blazers are pretty commmon, there is a house by the mall that has three or four blazers in the yard. a lot of the rigs are in prettty good shape, some pretty bad and a few are real sweet. these truck are pretty common, which is bad because i dont drive mine. swd + snow = carnage, 91 4x4 blazer does just fine.
