71402BB, I think you may have the worst next to the Acki Guy but what are you doing in this thing that makes it that bad a gas milage, I used to have a 71SS with a 402, 373 gears and averaged 17MPG, You got a hole in the tank, Fule punp leaking, maybe a Dominator 1500CFM Carb. Instead of lower your gears did you ever think of switching the 4speed for a Auto w/OD. I went from 13MPG to 18 with my OD in my 67and w/cam swap jumped up to 21mpg, If you run 2.73 w/4spd this thing is gonna be a MF to take off with.

I had a 79 chev 38.5x15.50's and 3.07's. It got 12mpg with a mildly built 350. So far my 72 with 31's and a 283 gets about 14mpg. It has lower gears.

Of all my favorite things to do, The utmost is to have a brew.
My love grows for my foamy friend, with each thirst-quenching elbow bend.
Beer so frosty, smooth, and cold it's paradise pure liquid gold.
Yes beer means many things to me that's all for now cus I gotta pee.

95 K1500, almost stock 350 (modified with bad intake valvle on #1, that gives about zero compression), L60 trans, 3.73 gears.
Gets between 12 and 14 around town, and as high as 18+ on the highway.
Mebbe better after rebuild.
