I agree Jeff.

You can bet the bank that if I was to go into any parts store and one of the counter guys was standing there eating a candy bar and not paying any attention to me. I would quickly let them know about it. If it was his break time, go in the back and do it.

I don't know how it is in the mid west, but here, that crap just won't cut it. Rude behavior will not be tolerated in these parts. Sure, everyone thinks of the south as a bunch of hicks, but we do have some maners.

I see everyone who works or has worked at a parts counter defending the people who work at Autozone or Advance, etc. Sometimes, I feel sorry for them. They hire these kids to work the computers. They don't know anything about a car or truck, or what part is supposed to fit anything. With all the different cars and trucks now being built, it's impossible for anyone to know everything. When we go in with a older vehicle there is no way for them to know what is supposed to fit it. I think it's our place to know what we need in a case like this. Engines have been swapped and things changed to where no computer can tell them what part we need.

So, don't blame the young kids who work at these places. Blame the stupid ass companys who hire them. But, if you see them being flat out rude to you or someone else, that's a different matter altogether.

Oh, and what I said about you acting like another smartass I used to know. I wasn't joking. Since you have become close friends with Tim, you have started acting just like he used to. You seem to think the smartass remarks you give people in here are funny. Most of us don't think so. Why not answer someones question without talking smack? It seems you only answer questions in a way of trying your best to make someone feel bad for asking it. I'm not trying to make you feel bad towards me, just pointing out the way I see it. It seems you get off on making people look bad or stupid. This is not the way this forum is supposed to be. Take the trash talking to a forum where this kind of stuff is the norm. We don't want it in here.

Autozone areunreliable idiots around here. Kragen gets you the correct part every time. At Autozone, I asked for a set of Chevy 350 vavle cover gaskets. He goes back and then hands me a set. I look at the back and they say FORD on them. I tell him to go get me the right ones. He leaves and comes back. He hands me another set. It says for 6 on the back. I tell him to get me the correct set NOW. I got a little impatient. You think it would be easy to find the most common valve cover gasket on the planet. I finally got the right ones.

Kragen has higher prices but I go there anyways because they actually know about cars not just reading what the computer says. Almost anything for a 350 they don't need to look at a catalog - they just go get it.

Autozone is cheaper but can't tell a brake rotor from an EGR valve. Not to mention they will ignore you for as long as possible and their reply to anything you ask them it "I don't know" - When are you getting the next shipment in of headlights? Youv'e been out for weeks? - reply :shrugs: I dunno. GRRRRR NO common sense. Even the manager there is an idiot. I've had WAY too many problems with them as you can see...
