I like the look

I'm headed in the same direction with my '67 this summer

..originally i had planned on my truck being flat black...then i started thinking of a color to paint it and everything i see , i just like the flat black better ...and since i put my slots on my mind is definatly made up it staying flat black...as for the john deere paint ..a friend of mine used it to paint a ranger so i asked him if its hard to keep clean like primer is..he said about the same the dirt and grime seems to stain it...i'm thinking of going the base clear route but cant find anybody to tell me how much flattener to put in the clear....guess it'll have to be trial and error when its time to paint...

someone needs to do a true "Rat Rod" style with steel wheels and big white walls, ratrods primarily dont have any billet or very little chrome, kinda like the Project Old School 65 shortbed thats bein built in classic trucks..

I watched a Car/Truck show on TV the other day they were doing a Rat Rod paint job, it seems we aren't the only ones talking about it, it's a nation wide trend. They were mixing up paint just for "That Look" The shop owner said it was being requested a lot in the last year or so..

It was kinda weird though,, watching pain staking body work going into the rig, and the outcome looking like primer...

I photoshopped the big white walls on it at work the other day and I didn't like the way it looked so I trashed it.

I'm going rat rod too. Just finished up the tailgate and cowl panel tonight as a matter of fact. So now all I have left is everything but the tailgate, cowl, and right rear fender....

Personally, I've always loved the old school low tech stuff....I say go for it
