Re: 1967 Chevy CST aka "the loud truck"
I noticed the pipes dump out right after the rear axle I was wondering why you didnt take them all the way back to the bumper. Im sorry to hear about the radiator, an unexpected expense is never a good thing. Im excited to see the video of it running, do us a favor and have someone record video while you take it for a ride and do us the honor of seeing you spur that bad boy a little bit. The DZ 302 is a thoroughbred, it was born for one reason and one reason only, to race and win! I can just hear the announcer now. 67Chevy is pawing the ground and snorting like a raging bull, this is the moment we've all been waiting for, and THEY ARE OFF! |

Re: 1967 Chevy CST aka "the loud truck"
HAHA! yeah but theres nothing like a brand new radiator! yeah ill get a video for you guys! .... i wonder if the old truck will do a burnout... the brakes are REALLY good, and the tires are pretty much brand new so they should have good traction... and my 302 should have LOTS of power... if everything is working against each other so equally how can it? lol i probably sound like a retard.... maybe is just gotta floor it from idle speed....

Re: 1967 Chevy CST aka "the loud truck"
ok.... the bad news is...
the 68 K10: altenator fried! belt broke, so now no charging and no water pump! the 67, needs a new heater core, and water pump..... and all new tranny fluid. since the 68 went down i ran maybe a mile to the exhaust shop went there paid the man and hopped in the ILLEGAL truck and drove home.... thats when i noticed the low tranny fluid..... so i rode maybe half the speed of smell to my house lol the GOOD NEWS is; SOUNDS AMAZING!!!!!! bad no phone so nothing to record with yet.... im here at my house now waiting for the guys to put the rear and front window in.... |

Re: 1967 Chevy CST aka "the loud truck"
Ok let me get this straight here.
The 67 needs a new Heater Core, Water Pump and Radiator? yeesh that isnt gonna be cheap... Let me see $300 for the exhaust work, $400 for the windows and instal, $350 for a 4-row aluminum radiator, $60 for the heater core, $100 for the water pump, good grief thats an expensive couple of days! Re: 1967 Chevy CST aka "the loud truck"
Lol it was 547.80 for exhaust, take out of old radiator install of new radiator, the new radiator and for the Thermostat ad for te windows I think it's gonna be 311.00. The front window rubber doesn't have the right groove for the trim so tomorrow he's gonna bring a rubber that he has and if it works hes going to give me his rubber for free! So tomorrow while I'm at school, at 8:00 the glass guy is gonna come put my front window in and we will pay him! Hopefully that's what happens assuming he has the right rubber... And my dads truck has a new belt and alternator so he's back up and driving again! So now I don't have a front window again lol

Re: 1967 Chevy CST aka "the loud truck"
well the other window rubber didnt work so hes going to order one and retry tomorrow. i got my new tranny fluid in and got it weighed today at the scale for DMV, it weighed 3,720 pounds!
left on my list: 1. alignment 2. brake and lamp inspection 3. registration 4. get a stinking rubber to fit my trim!!! if the new rubber doesnt work im going to run with no trim and get a non trim rubber. i am VERY disappointed in the weather stripping that i have gotten so far.... heres some pics though. and oh by the way..... DID MY FIRST BURNOUT IN IT TODAY! it was seriously on accident! i know you guys are gonna laugh at that sentence but it was i was going to drive it back on the trailer after i did the weight and she barked her tires a bit! |

Re: 1967 Chevy CST aka "the loud truck"

Re: 1967 Chevy CST aka "the loud truck"
Hmm thats very odd about your stainless windshield trim, are you sure that the trim is the correct year, the only reason I ask is because 67-70 and 71-72 are completely different part numbers, so maybe you have 67-70 gasket and 71-72 stainless trim.

If you haven't seen this thread on windshields and gaskets yet, you may want to take a look. Some good info there.

Im happy for you I know you are very excited to have "The Screamer" running and driving. Oh hey did you ever find out why your Transmission fluid was low, did it leak out, or dump out when you installed it? Last edited by Xeen; 09-15-2012 at 07:25 PM. |

Re: 1967 Chevy CST aka "the loud truck"
well when they took the radiator out, some of my fluid leaked out of the tranny coolant lines. so they never put more back in. on the way home form exhaust shop she only did 10 mph tops!
