How does yours work with regard to mounting to firewall. Also why did you keep it off the firewall ....

Originally I was looking at the brackets teh guys here build on the their C10s .. and was going to mimic .... but so little room now and wondering if it buys me much.

I welded the legs to the firewall and bolted the pedal to it.

I had to bring it off the firewall because the pedal hit the floor before a full stroke. I have in the past cut and bent the pedal linkage to achieve the same result but doing that I had to be careful of the welding and grinding heat, it would melt the plastic of the pedal.

Initially I was thinking about something like this ..... but really the position as it stands right now isnt bad ..... I can probably put s small spacer/washer on the backside of the bottom bolt and call it done. Then just paint.

So quesiton on AC charge.

I started filling my AC. Its a hot day. Probably 85-90 degress and 85% humidity.
AC clutch and AC condensor fan is engaged .... I also put a floor fan in front of car too.

Initially the pressures held around 35/250 with the compressor clutch constantly spinning. As the engine reached operating temperature closer to 200 ..... both sides increased probably to around 50/375.

Not sure what to consider that - probably high pressure a little high ?

Is you evaporator fan on high ?

Is your R.P.M. at 1500 ?

What is your outlet temperature ?

No that was at idle .....

That was my initial thought as well (overcharged) ....... but before I work out how Im going to evacuate ..... was wondering if a way to isolate a bit better.

Evap fan is single speed But I did have a floor electric fan pointed at grill/condensor at same time.

Been having problrms with my drivers door closing .....
Removing teh weatherstip and it shuts pretty much fine.
I think its installed correctly.

Anyone know if there is "thinner" version ? Or other ideas/options.

Very excited ........ almost ready for paint.
Seatbelts in.
Finished off exhaust.
Finished rear shocks (exhaust is wrapped in ceramic heat matt then wrapped with normal exhaust wrap).
Wrapped exhaust also around transmission.
Finished wiring for electric brake.
New R&P and fitting and NO LEAKS !!

Now just to test AC - get her insured and licenced then start driving for a week oer two then paint.

Washed her for first time in 4 years today.
Drove around block - problem with VSS ...... so thats the next deal --- gonna have to speak with the wise one (nova).

AC works pretty good. But yeah - we are on the tail end of summer still .... so temps only in the low 80s versus high 90's ....... so TBD.

Quick question .... going to be replacving all the front door windows and seals.

Paint first so paint gets on old windows - no big deal - but risk damaging paint on replacing ...

or paint after new windows go in .... but just do a good tape job.

my thoughts are to remove all windows and clean up any rust in the window flanges
prime, paint and then install glass and weather seals

tape is cheap and old newspaper is free

Makes sense

Have you reinstalled your own windows ogre ? Mainly the glass not the removal of the tracking itself etc.

Took her to home depot for her first "load"
Went well.

Got to quieten the enterior in the back and windows a bit more.
Longer term might look at slightly higher rate leafs in rear and raise her 1-2".

i did all my glass, but i have one piece windows
i bought all the stuff to rebuild and keep the wing windows
the hardware under the wings was so rusty it would've required new stuff


great pic first load, i hauled sand, gravel and many tons of bricks in my panel when i was building my first house
i was able to slide an 18 foot steel beam up to the firewall with 4 ft sticking out the back end
it took 4 guys to set it on pillars down the center of the new living room

for temporary load hauling you might want to look at helper air bags

What are you thinking about doing re soundproofing? I will need to do the same on my '56 Panel. The windows? Confused.
