Here she is with the bed back on, waiting for the rear fenders to get worked on.
Last one is a nice 3/4 profile shot

Re: 49 ls1
Also, if anyone here has a lead on tri 5 stuff. I'm looking for '55 Chevy Belair (4 door) door panel chrome, the one that makes the big "V" like the picture below. I need a pair of front door trim to make the door panels for this truck. These have the PERFECT look to them!

Re: 49 ls1
Thanks all.
Advanced Design; I've seen the Danchuck listing. I just hate to spend 300 bones for all new chrome, when I only need 2 pieces. Besides, if I got them new, they'd be the only new chrome on the whole truck, and would look out of place. I will definitely call Old Gold though! I seem to be having a trans problem now. It doesn't want to go into gear... any of them. Trying to double-check all my wiring, and get some technical knowledge on the 4L80 as we speak. From what I've found online, it should go into 3rd and reverse, even if all the wires are disconnected (limp mode). I've also found sites that say that isn't so. I guess next I'll see if it has any line pressure. And of course, the guy who rebuilt it now has a disconnected number. figures.

Re: 49 ls1
Not much for new pics. Wiring is pretty much complete. Working through this trans issue. Had to hurry up and install the OBD2 port so my buddy can swing by with his scan tool tomorrow. Here's the new peepers

Re: 49 ls1
Got the '49 out for a little sun today. Need to get her cleaned up for Saturday's show!
Oh, and it looks like I'll need to be looking for another 4L80E. Pump's not building enough pressure. Reverse is iffy for sure.

Re: 49 ls1
Thanks, kind of bummed out about the trans as well. I'll be pulling this one and dropping in another one before All Truck Nats I think.
The trans is a '99 4L80E out of a 2500 service truck. Headlight bezels are '55 Studebaker, kind of hard to find since they don't reproduce them, but that was sort of the point I guess...

LoL... any lower it'd be sub-terrain! Once I get the plow (I mean bumper) on the front it will look even lower. maybe it'll win the "best of what's left" trophy this weekend... BAWHAHAHAHAHA!

Re: 49 ls1
Thanks all. Just love the look of this one. Seat is from '59 Oldsmobile I think. Not 100% sure, it was in another project I picked up. I had it upholstered in a slightly modified '57 Studebaker Golden Hawk pattern. If you look closely, every single seam is done in double baseball stitching

I purchased the RH and both heat shields, got the LH off ebay for double the cost of what GM was selling it for,it still looked like a decent deal,as I like the looks of them compared to a header.AND,they probably aint getting any cheaper. There are probably some other tight fitting GM manifolds still available that came on other vehicles,if you do your homework, and I am sure there are some 12600526 sitting on a shelf somewhere that nobody has discovered yet. Just figured I'd let you guys know this. |
