Re: My new project 86 Silverado
looks so tiny in the picture… but 460+ cubes makes for serious torque… should be a blast to drive
i have another cool Olds build going on now as well… from an Olds builder in Florida... Olds 455… specs… Block bored .025 over for a Pontiac Icon piston Scat 7.00" H Beam rods "N" crank Balanced ARP main studs Align honed Square decked Bored and honed Block dressed and relieved Federal Mogul Main brgs Clevite rod Brgs Durabond Cam bearings Mahle Moly Top ring set - file fit. Cloyes Billet timing set. waiting on reworked C-heads and a Performer Intake from an Olds builder in Ohio… will decide on a Hyd roller cam soon...

Re: My new project 86 Silverado
touched base with Jim Lehart, progress coming along on my 461 Pontiac... maybe 2 more months..
I should do a poll to see which one, the Olds or Pontiac gets installed...

Re: My new project 86 Silverado
I'm biased, so I vote Olds! Also its been done several times. Not sure how well the Poncho fits? (mounts and exhaust?) Either way looks like fun!

Re: My new project 86 Silverado
got to lay a coat of paint on the rad core support, have all the new bushings ready to go...
digging out all the clips and bolts etc. to start hanging the front clip... there's a car wash down the road with those high pressure wands.. i'm going to take all my engine accessory brackets, etc. down there and wash them, that should degrease and clean them all, so i can paint them and start assembling the engine... updates as they come over the next few days/weeks... hope everyone is well and getting ready for spring
