Re: Hazel the older Sister....

I got a little work done this week since the boss man gave me an extra day or two off. I finished up the air box thingy I made and got it painted. I finally ran the heater hoses through the cut down heater box (I should have shaved the firewall and been done with it) so I painted it while I was squirting flat black. Nathan sent me his new hinges so I got those painted and installed. I spent the last two days painting so now I can bolt some stuff back on. I still need to undercoat the lower firewall but this is the first time the fenders and the inner fenders have been on the truck in a long time and they are not coming off. I stood and looked at the inner fenders for about an hour and realized I really don't like them and I should have not been so lazy and made a nicer set but it's just a patina driver and it will have to do....board member elz (Jarod) hooked me up with a better set of script covers so I body worked and got those in primer after the big meal yesterday......I should have those painted next week, thanks again Jarod!

It's a sectioned & capped OE heater box.

The wiper motor is under the dash where GM put them from the factory.

I'm using the stock wiper motor like lolife99 said in the factory location......I made the filler panel for the heater box then fiberglass it all together (never again)

You can't see them but we have over 20 cabinets FULL of JD toy tractors with original boxes dating back to God knows when. My Dad has had custom plows made that cost as much as a set of really nice wheels......when we show them to youngsters they go crazy! This doesn't include what's in the house.....you think I have a problem you should meet my Dad, at least I can say I got it honestly.

Re: Hazel the older Sister....

Glad to see you still have the rambler. Man I love that car, have you been enjoying it much? Earlier in this thread you said you travel alot for work, what do you do for a living? if you don't mind me asking. Great work on the truck, I stared at the core support and radiator cover this morning for it seems like an hour. I reall like the clean and simple style your cars/trucks have.

Every truck I've owned has had one of those stickers at one point or another.

I remember that well on Lucy, especially since I looked those pictures over more than a few times.

My family bleeds JD through and through, with a large collection of toys from many moons ago; not to mention their large scale counterparts.

Re: Hazel the older Sister....

Made a little progress on the truck this weekend, finished loosely installing the rear kit. I'm now ready to set the pinion angle and weld on the lower bag mounts. After I get this done I'm going to rebuild the rear end and paint it. I also painted the top of the grill to match the engine compartment and stuck it on the truck so I would knock it over (again). I had to modify the tank and make some mounts to work around the rear kit but it should be good to go now.
