Re: T-Man's 58 Apache project
Well it has been 3 weeks. I managed to get the hood all Done and the one fender roughed out so far in the mud department. Should have this fender finished by the end of the weekend. Then it is on to the other fender. Getting there slowly. We ordered some new fleetsides for the truck today. It will be quicker. Oh a pic of my Duramax! Lol

Re: T-Man's 58 Apache project
Got some more done tonight. 2.5 hours later. Still have about 4 hours left on this fender. All of the edges and some front. She feels nice and straight. And still fairly thjn amount of filler.

Re: T-Man's 58 Apache project
sometimes instead of the flexible board I have stapled one of the sanding strips to a piece of plywood the same size as the board. it doesn't flex at all so the really flat parts come out really flat. some wax and grease remover on a rag with a nice bright light across from you, reflecting across the surface, works pretty well to make things glisten and you can tell right away if there are any ripples etc. it would look like it would doing the same thing with fresh paint, except this way you have time to fix any ripples before paint time. less cussing that way, lol.
yours looks good. must be nice to have pretty good panels to start with. |

Re: T-Man's 58 Apache project
Hey Everyone. Thought I would share a picture of the truck. We still have some I terror work and the box floor to do yet. Don and deb retired from farming last year and have enjoyed life. Pops has spent a lot of time assembling the the truck. Learning, getting frustrated and moving towards the finish line with a massive smile. Got to admit I sure am proud of everyone that has ever had a helping hand in this truck. Through trials and tribulations we have built a beautiful truck as a family and friends all combined. Thanks everyone for helping build a dream. It has been 12 year long journey with a bit more to go. But it is almost complete. Once finished I will get some pictures taken and do a bit more of a breakdown. Enjoy guys.

Re: T-Man's 58 Apache project
A few more pictures I will take more next time and explain everything better. Btw, 13 years ago we started this venture. My daughter was born when we started this truck. Its funny how we connect things.
