I feel your pain, through the board I was able to find a used bezel in real good shape, I may get everything done hopefully this weekend.

Mike-nutt where did he cut the frame? Any pics?
Malo83 what are you painting it back to original?

Both nice looking rigs.

Search for recent posts by ojoe (*EDIT look here). He has posted detailed pictures of the how he did it.

mike nutt; speaking of his crew-swb projects, the red one pictured was a dually in the last pictures he posted. At least the front end was. Any idea about what he did for that?
Also, from what I have read the 1 ton frames are quite different from the 1/2 ton frames. Curious about how he grafted the frames together for that.
I guess I'll find that thread and post that question there.

kevin1970, there are some pics post of the frame at the back of this post http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=218953 ,the red truck and the black one both started out as one ton crewcabs . the black one got a complete 1/2 ton front crossmember , the red one got 1/2 ton upper and lower a-arms with drop spindles .the rear frames were both cut and 1/2 ton shortbed frame sections were added . hope this helps , mike

Yes it is a 74 with a later front end. I will be returning it to a 74 front and replacing the stepside with a fleetside bed.

Here's my old truck....sold it a few years ago. Kept the 454 I built for it though! The new owner has made a few "questionable" updates.......

I miss it!

Re: How about some pictures of '73-'87 short beds

I would have left the visor on it. I love em.

Man that front end sure looks higher then the back, but you can follow the siding on the house and see it's not higher.

measuring from ground to body line the front is .5-.75" higher
its the difference in wheel openings that makes it look that way
its lowered with 3" drop springs(i dont think i got 3") and someday i will get spindles and 2" drop springs
