@9teen69: yes eye protection is a must! Even though I've power washed and repainted everything in the engine bay and firewall area it can fall from anywhere...@Texas LD: yeah its a dual ring propane burner I picked up for $27. It puts out 26,000 btu's. I placed a cookie sheet over the flame to keep the direct flame off the headers. In two minutes the cookie sheet was glowing red, I owe mom a new one...@mator: I know the feeling! I'm closing on my "start" day, just received new stainless tranny Cooler lines from jegs. Also, was able to get power steering mounted and alternator bracket mounted. Had to remove some material for top alternator bracket alignment. Have to wait a day or two til I can get down to parts store for longer belts.

Moved my 67 C20 to a new home closer to my house. Now its 10 minutes away instead of 45. The weight pushed the trailer to its limit so 40 mph on the freeway was as fast as I could go without the trailer fish tailing all over the place. Exciting drive.

Cut an inch and a half off my buckets to gain some head room! Welded some square stock back in to reinforce them. Excuse the ****ty welds I'm just learning how to tig weld.

I like having them sit below the window opening as well. The drivers side was before I cut them off. The passenger is after. Ya can barely see the top of the seat. I've really just been tackling odds and ends awaiting my shipment of porterbuilt from azproperformance. Oh the anticipation!

Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II

Finshed up installing new master cylinder, proportioning valve and new stainless steel soft brake lines. Had to do a little grinding on the caliper to change the banjo clocking. Man the pedal is so much better. Still have to test drive. Also installed new alternator bracket.

Whoa! I really like the simple but very solid mounting bracket system you have.

Also....are you going for a side marker or tail light filler setup on your tank?

Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II

I actually got something done on my truck today! I ground out the broken off extractor from a broken bolt. I had tried to break the extractor out with a chisel but no luck. My dremel tool seems to have done the job and as soon as my left handed drill bits get here, I hope to remove it utterly.

I also used my dremel and cutting wheels to cut out the tac welds on the passenger side (front) cab to frame mounting bolt. I took it really easy and took my time: the sparks flew! All it took was a very light tap with a ball peen hammer and BOOM, she was free.

I hope to have the cab to frame bushings replaced this week!

Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II

Today I installed my alternator and power steering brackets on the 292. Went with a nice two groove billet pulley on the p/s pump to run a seperate belt for the alternator.

Didn't exactly do much, rebuilt my steering shaft. Powder coated it and then put it all back together. Needed to use a small file... But couldn't find the handle... Then I found an old headlight switch that was broken, waaa laaaa handle..... Redneck improv = good times !! Headlight file !!
