stock 5.3L cam with F-body headers, Pypes exhaust with X-pipe (I can't remember which style of muffler....I know it was supposed to be the quietest and best flowing). It dumps before the rear axle.

Nice! I like how stealthy it sounds as you pull back up to the camera. Very nice job. Like it was said before...keep the pics coming. Another sound clip would be cool too if you can. The fact that it isn't very loud could be the grounds for a great DD.

Re: Ackattack's Pro touring restoration thread

Well I went on a short "vacation" to visit family for a few days, but I did get the wipers wired up and realized that my cruise control isn't going to be as easy as I thought it was going to be to hook up.

Re: Ackattack's Pro touring restoration thread

I did a little research on the cruise control switch today and talked to a buddy at work (electrical guy) and we came up with a circuit using 2 relays to be able to use a Digital Dakota turn signal/cruise switch with a DBW 5.3L.

Hopefully it will work out.

If it works, we'll expect a write up for the FAQ to follow shortly........

Is the cruise built into the ecm you just have to wire up a switch? I know some of the later model trucks are that way.

essentially. there is an additional box (throttle actuator control module) that the switches actually go to, and then that goes to the ECM

Re: Ackattack's Pro touring restoration thread

how much of the frame did you have to remove to use that tank?
I need a new tank and they are cheap so i would like to try my hand at that mod
you made.

Re: Ackattack's Pro touring restoration thread

I used the sametank. Cut about a 1x20 piece from the bottom flange on each side of the frame.

Re: Ackattack's Pro touring restoration thread

Last night I hooked up my cruise control. I also took the time to take a lot of pictures and do a write up of how to hook up the cruise. the How To thread is here:

http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=398006

So today I took the truck out to get some pictures and test out the cruise. The cruise control worked perfect, just like factory

Then the pictures. I thought I'd submit my truck for the TOTM, so wanted a little nicer pictures with a more interesting back ground:
