Another great idea on the bumper mounting. The filler panel will look really good Mark.

Re: "Project Orangepeel" 52 A.D

Thanks Doug...I wanted it to be some what simple to remove. So when it's all done you pull 2 bolts out and the bumper and the inner mounting system comes off pretty easy..

That looks good with splash aprons added. Really help tie things together.

Rusty76, Thank you!
The apron was a much needed item, there was just to much space between the bed and bumper..

Re: "Project Orangepeel" 52 A.D

Thank's Doug, It was a pain in the butt to do the repairs on them do to the compound curves they have, so it was a challenge!!

Pic #1. The bumper all prepped for clear...

Pic #2. The pan after texturing..

Pic #3. The bumperettes..

Pic #4. The bumper cleared and installed...

(The reason I cleared the bumper and pan was to tie the bumper into the interior concept. )

Nicely done on the bumper filler panels. Those came out as if they belonged.

Re: "Project Orangepeel" 52 A.D

Ratty46 thank's...it really needed the pan, it looked kinda silly without it...

Spblack....Oddly enough it comes all the way down with about 1/4" of clearance.
When it was in mock up stages it was worked out so it could still be used if needed..

Re: "Project Orangepeel" 52 A.D

Update...

Ok, if you guy's remember awhile back I was kicking around the idea of the metal finish for the interior, so after I finished the dash I removed the door panels and the moldings from the doors and back panel from the cab to re-do them...

Pic #1. This is the rear panel for the cab after I textured it.

Pic #2. The door panel.

Pic #3. Steering column.

Pic #4. First look after the clear was done and parts installed..

Pic #5. A closer look at the door and molding..
Till next time

Re: "Project Orangepeel" 52 A.D

This last item on my list before I put her away, is for the steering wheel/column.
There is a gap between the wheel and column that needs attention.

Pic #1. Here I made a simple ring a bit larger than the column and welded together. Then I cut out the top ring/plate to fit the back side of wheel.

Pic #2. This is what it looks like sitting on the wheel..

Pic #3. After tacking together..

Pic #4. After welding and metal finish...( also notice the inner plate that was added )

Pic #5. This gives you a better idea of what I'm going for..(the small holes in plate are for 1/4-20 button head cap screws to hold in place)
More later...
Mark...

That is a nice detail. Putting her away...certainly understand the need and it is kinda like stopping in the middle of a good book. Here is to a quick continuation!

Man that rear bumper mod and panel really look great. Splash pans always seen to really tie everything together. Really nice work.
