From what I understand Fedex now counts Saturday as a regular delivery day for their Home Delivery service so if that's true I will get my CPP sheetmetal engine perches on Saturday.

Fedex delivered the new CPP sheetmetal engine perches today.
The box was punctured but when I realized the irony I laughed.

I would love to get them installed today but unfortunately I can't do it by myself.
I need the help of friends to do it because the truck has to be pushed out onto the driveway then I need someone to help me manipulate the engine and transmission while it's hoisted so I don't bang the output shaft of the transmission into the firewall.
It will get done sometime over the next week or so.

I purchased an engine lifting sling at Oreillys and it was only $11.00, what a great deal.

even though the box was damaged, the perches did not suffer from it. I did mine all by my self at age 65 I always fine a way. Only kidding. installed new perches and slid it back and forwards a couple times. But I did not have to push the truck anywhere. I guess that is why I could do it by byself.

Have you slid the motor back yet. and installed the new perches. Haven't heard on your build. I guess you are busy do it right.

I haven't installed the new perches yet.
I'm waiting for a nice day where the sun isn't going to beat me to death because I don't have any shade and it's 95+ right now.

I can relate to the heat it was 92 at the bank at 5:00

George the plan is to instal the engine perches this comming Tuesday when the temperature is supposed to be 83 degrees, I just hope the forecast is close to acurate and it doesn't end up being 90+ that day.

Hey all;
Monday I have to prep for the engine pull on Tuesday.
There are lots of parts that have to come off that I installed prior to making the decision to move the engine, the starter, transmission coolant lines, headers and stuff like that, anything that will get in the way.

Pulled an all nighter so at about 8:40 this morning I headed out and prepped the truck for the heart operation tomorrow.
I will post pictures of tomorrows success.

Hope it goes as smooth for you as mine did for me. Those new sheet metal perches are great. Took us about an hour to swap from tubular to the sheet metal ones and the headers fit like a glove.

The fit was such a relief after battling those tubular ones and never getting headers to fit. I am sure you saw how much it gained me on my build thread...I still have not quit grinning since yesterdays install and success. I am subscribed to see how it works out for you. Cheers!

Hey all;
I'm happy to report the engine is moved back and resting comfortably in the factory v6 holes.

Plenty of clearance for the accessory drive now.


It's sitting nice and close to the firewall now.


I'm very happy with how it turned out.

I went out and started reinstalling some of the things I removed in preperation for the engine move.
I installed the Shift linkage, air intake, and engine cover.
I still need to instal the starter, radiator, antifreeze hoses, coolant lines, steam hose, etcetera.
I could have gotten a lot more done today but I wasn't feelin' it and by the time curiosity got the better of me it had already started to get hot out.

I feel for you buddy today it was 94 and the heat ran me inside.

Are you still using the 2" forward adapter plates you had made? I like the location of the engine now. Plenty of room for efans

Yep I am.
That's darn near exactly where yours will be sitting while in the V8 position.

I started on it early at about 7am this morning and got some more assembly done.

Starter is installed.


Headers and Dipstick loosely installed.


Radiator, steam line and coolant lines installed.
