Yes. Using the heated seats, the console, the rear fold down seats, dual climate control dash, etc. It all bolts into the factory positions.
I plan to dye everything to match.

Nice to see you're back to it. Trim is a really nice touch.

Re: 52 GMC Envoy Burb meld/build

Well, it is pretty simple, I built the 52 Bus inbetween... didn't have the money to do both. Well, THAT has changed--I sold my 48 GMC Panel.
It is in the paint shop now, hoping to shoot the interior in the next couple days.

Yes, most of us know about moving money around to free up other projects..

Re: 52 GMC Envoy Burb meld/build

Decided to glue all the side windows frm the inside, no gaskets. Probably will oversize the windshield and glue it without gasket from the front. Very clean look, I hope. Anyone else ever done this?

Re: 52 GMC Envoy Burb meld/build

I know it is going to shock most everyone when they see the paint job...as much custom work that has been done, as much money that has been invested, etc
The thing is, I want drive it. Every day. Rain. Shine. Snow. So rather than spend five figures on a shiny paint job, let's just say I went a little more utilitarian... I have never painted anything before, but can't say that now

That's what we call a real teaser!
Your plan is most likely not only better for the wallet but also blood pressure if you drive it like You plan to.
You have some very sweet rides btw.

BBeep

I understand. After having a nice paint job on my 48 that was the same reason on my 53 Suburban I have decided to do something similar to what You are doing.

Cant wait to see it.

Shot the inside Vanilla Shake in Hot Rod Flatz, and the trim the same color only shiny and clear coated.

Re: 52 GMC Envoy Burb meld/build

Applied the lacquer because it is very forgiving. Also because it is vintage.
Lot of elbow grease in my future as I begin the cut and buff process... yippee!!

I have somehow misplaced all the hardware and nuts, bolts, and screws for the internals of the door windows. I am hoping there is a complete "kit" available.
I found my new regulators and the interior door handle mechanism. The latch assembly is already installed.

That looks great, and the belt line trim is the iceing on the cake. I don't usually like painted on patina but I would drive that one just like it is.

Re: 52 GMC Envoy Burb meld/build

This thing is sweet.

I just pulled my truck out of storage, still drives like a stock worn out 1950 farm truck.

Got thinking Enovy/Trailblazer rolling chassis again.

Enovy wheelbase is 113" (I think this applies to the SS as well, the XL is way longer at 129")

Stock 3100 Chevy pickup is 116" (suburban is the same I believe)

Reading up on one of the guys that used to sell kits to put the pickups on regular cab long box S 10 frames which had 117.9" wheel base, he said the extra 2" on the s-10 centers the rear wheels better in the wheel arches.

Looking back at yours, do you think lengthening the Envoy frame would have helped vs doing the big fenders and moving/reshaping thing?

Also, any idea what GMPP did for that 53 they did other than widening the fronts 2"? I think it said they lengthened the frame too, wonder how much?
